Fees & Terms

My approach is based on clarity. No hidden costs, no vague conditions — just a straightforward structure that reflects the value of what’s at stake.

Commission Structure

I work on a commission basis. A percentage is agreed in advance and only applies upon successful completion of a transaction — whether a sale or an acquisition. If nothing happens, nothing is owed.

The commission follows a sliding scale:

  • Up to €100,000 – 15%
  • €100,000 to €500,000 – 10%
  • Above €500,000 – 5%

These percentages reflect the time, care and discretion involved in handling high-value items, and are in line with international practice across the art world, collector markets and classic car brokerage.

Whether buying or selling, the structure remains the same. I act exclusively on behalf of my client — the person looking to part with or quietly acquire something of value.

Included in the Fee

  • Photography
  • Presentation strategy
  • Direct outreach or placement within my trusted network
  • Coordination of the transaction and handover process

No separate marketing or listing fees. If I represent you, it’s full service — without fragmentation.

Advisory & Inspection Fees

In cases where no transaction takes place — for example when I travel to inspect an object, carry out research, or advise independently — I apply an hourly rate of €150, agreed beforehand.

This ensures my time is fairly valued, also when no sale or purchase follows. There is no minimum. Travel time is billed as part of the advisory rate.

Third-Party Costs

If specialist services are required — such as independent valuations, restoration, professional cleaning, secure storage or international logistics — these are discussed in advance and invoiced at cost. I do not add margins to services provided by others.

Nothing is arranged without your approval. Everything is clear from the start.

Scope, Exclusivity & Cancellation

Exclusivity

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, assignments are accepted on an exclusive basis. This ensures clarity and avoids conflicts of interest.

Multiple Agents

If you wish to engage additional representatives during the process, this must be discussed in advance. A discreet, aligned approach serves everyone better.

Withdrawal of Assignment

If an assignment is withdrawn after work has commenced, and no transaction takes place, a flat fee of €750 applies to cover time, research, and initial coordination.

This applies regardless of whether the item is ultimately sold or not, and ensures that work undertaken in good faith is reasonably covered.

In cases where significant travel, preparation or viewings have taken place, a higher fee may apply, to be agreed in proportion with the time involved.

In Short

What you see is what you get:

A clear structure. A considered approach.
